South Kivu: Fine of 200,000 francs for Daytime and Nighttime Disturbances in Bukavu

The city of Bukavu is taking strict measures to combat daytime and nighttime noise disturbances. The mayor of the city, Zénon Karumba, announced in a statement that disturbances in churches, festive ceremonies, funerals, stores selling phonographic works, bars, terraces, and nightclubs are now prohibited. This decision aims to preserve the tranquility and well-being of the population, as well as to promote an environment conducive to work and rest.

In this statement, the mayor of Bukavu emphasizes that these disturbances violate the principles of civility and good neighborliness. They prevent the population from concentrating at work during the day and peacefully resting at night. To enforce this ban, any individual or entity that violates this rule will be subject to a fine not exceeding 200,000 FC, in accordance with decree-law No. 14/12 of May 8, 2014, regulating sound production in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
