Press Freedom in the DRC: JED notes over 10 journalists humiliated in 4 different provinces. 

The press in the Democratic Republic of Congo is experiencing unprecedented repression in recent days. According to a press release from the organization Journalist in Danger “JED” made public at the end of July 2023, over 10 journalists have been humiliated in 4 different provinces.

These journalists were victims of barbaric acts, particularly in Kinshasa city province, the city of Kananga, the capital of Central Kasai, Kasai province, and North Kivu. The first three provinces are significant hotspots of these violations of journalists’ rights.
