PDL in the 145 territories: 400 infrastructures are already ready (Patrick Muyaya)

The Prime Minister has confirmed the completion of 300 to 400 infrastructures built across the territory of the Democratic Republic of Congo as part of the Local Development Program in 145 territories, an initiative of President Félix Tshisekedi Tshilombo.

The Prime Minister made this known during the meeting of the strategic steering committee of the Local Development Program in 145 territories at the Congolese Government’s hotel. This meeting, aimed at evaluating the implementation of the program, saw the participation of several committee members to discuss the essential aspects of the few completed projects.

According to Patrick Muyaya, the government spokesperson, Kinshasa expects the construction of 1,200 schools, 500 to 700 health centers, and 145 administrative buildings. He also announced the upcoming inauguration phase of some infrastructures.

“It was a meeting of the national operational council responsible for supervising the project. The evaluation was based on the progress made since the last meetings after the effective launch of various works across the national territory. Despite some difficulties, particularly in certain territories in the east, it is worth mentioning that all agencies have launched their respective projects,” explained Patrick Muyaya.

He continued, “Today, if we evaluate everything that has been said, there are already more than 300 to 400 infrastructures that are ready. You know that within this program, we expect approximately 1,200 schools, 500 to 700 health centers, and 145 administrative buildings. We are quite satisfied that in the coming days, we will begin the planning for the inauguration phase while other components are being put in place.”

During this steering committee meeting, several government members were present, including the Minister of State in charge of planning, the Deputy Minister of Budget and Territorial Planning, the Ministers of Finance, Health, Vocational Training, and Hydraulic Resources.

It is worth noting that the strategic steering committee is primarily responsible for monitoring the implementation of the Development at the Grassroots level in the 145 territories project.
