We are pleased to announce the launch of the call for applications for an innovative project titled “Increasing media capacity to implement the Kunming-Montreal global biodiversity framework in the Democratic Republic of Congo”. This ambitious project, funded by the EARTH Journalism Network and Internews, and implemented by Mkaaji Mpya and Kilalopress, aims to enhance the capacities of local media in the Democratic Republic of Congo to implement the Kunming-Montreal global biodiversity framework adopted in 2022.
Since the adoption of the global biodiversity framework in Montreal in 2022, the need for awareness and engagement towards environmental challenges has never been more crucial. In response to this imperative, this project specifically targets journalists based in Bukavu and Kinshasa, aiming to select 30 professionals passionate about environmental issues. The main objective is to train and equip these journalists to effectively inform the Congolese public about the challenges and opportunities related to biodiversity.
