In the face of this worrying situation, Eugénie Dacosta, a refrigeration engineer, emerges as an inspiring example of determination and contribution to the community’s well-being.
Eugénie Dacosta, an engineer in mechanical engineering, refrigeration, and painting by training, is a prominent figure in the field of household refrigeration and building painting. Her journey is marked by unwavering determination to defy stereotypes and prove that women have their rightful place in fields traditionally dominated by men.
Since her teenage years, Eugénie has helped her father, a mechanic, in his daily tasks, thus developing her passion for this profession. Despite doubts and ridicule from those around her, she persevered, asking her mother to enroll her in a technical school to further her skills acquired from her father.
Despite obstacles and society’s skepticism, Eugénie continued her studies in mechanical engineering at the Higher Institute of Applied Techniques (ISTA), becoming the only woman in her institution studying mechanics. She overcame prejudices and doubts to pursue her dream, becoming an inspiring example of determination and success.
With a degree in mechanical engineering, Eugénie has already provided various services, ranging from air conditioner maintenance at the National Road Maintenance Fund to repairing air conditioners for individuals, as well as repairing refrigerators and painting walls and buildings.
With her experience and expertise, Eugénie Dacosta positions herself as a committed entrepreneur, striving to expand her business throughout Kinshasa and beyond. Her goal is to make a name for herself in offering household refrigeration and building painting services, thus significantly contributing to sustainable development efforts in her community.
