In the perspective of gathering the opinions and considerations of stakeholders on current issues in the implementation of PIREDD_MO, the Chairman of GTCRR, Mr. Omer KABASELE, and the National Coordinator, Mr. Guy Kajemba, took part on Tuesday, March 26th in a first meeting in the morning with the DIRCAB of the Governor of the Mongala Province, and in a second meeting bringing together the staff of ENABEL and the Member Organizations of GTCRR_MO.
Discussions focused on the challenges and opportunities related to the implementation of the Integrated REDD+ Programme in the forestry sector in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Participants exchanged ideas on how to ensure sustainable management of forest resources while promoting the socio-economic development of local communities.
The meetings provided an opportunity for stakeholders to share their visions and recommendations to strengthen the effectiveness of PIREDD_MO. Crucial issues such as forest governance, biodiversity preservation, and the role of local actors were deeply discussed.
Mr. Omer KABASELE emphasized the importance of these exchanges to ensure a successful implementation of PIREDD_MO, while Mr. Guy Kajemba encouraged enhanced cooperation among all involved parties.
The insights and recommendations from these meetings will help shape a more promising future for the country’s forestry sector.
