Call for the Protection of Congolese Farmers by Lawyer Olivier Ndoole Bahemuke
Lawyer Olivier Ndoole Bahemuke has recently expressed grave concerns about the situation in the Rubaya region and other areas in North Kivu, Democratic Republic of the Congo. According to him, the international community, human rights defenders, neighboring countries, and Congolese authorities need to pay particular attention to the protection of Congolese farmers who are fighting to preserve the region’s strategic natural resources.

He emphasizes that these natural riches are crucial for global energy transition and technological development, and that Congolese farmers who have sacrificed themselves to protect these resources deserve justice and protection.

It IS also underscore the importance of concerted international intervention to ensure justice and protection for Congolese farmers, as well as to promote sustainable and equitable development of these crucial natural resources.
